Get ready for the first Green Britain Day
EDF Energy is the sustainability partner for London 2012 (the Olympics) and has just launched the annual Green Britain day on 10th July to encourage people to join Team Green Britain in the race against climate change. They are hoping that the Olympics will inspire people to do something green for the team on Green Britain Day.
For those stuck for ideas the Team Green Britian website is full of suggestions from changing to low energy light bulbs to organising a clothes swap. If the thought of getting green isn’t enough for you to get involved, Team Green Britain promises that by working as a team, we can find ways of reducing Britains carbon footprint and saving money and most importantly have a great time doing it.
The day will also be marked by a music event at the Eden Project which will include Paul Weller as the headline act and will be in support of the Prince’s Rainforest project.
Which ever team you choose to join, you will be playing a part in making sure that by 2012, Britain is leading the world in the race against climate change.
