Recycle and Fight Poverty

clothes recyclingTRAID is a charity which protects the environment by diverting clothes and shoes from landfill. In the process it also raises money for overseas development funds, which reduce poverty and educates the UK public on environmental and UK poverty issues.TRAID stands for Textile Recycling for Aid and International Development.

With all the good that it is doing, you wouldn’t think that it would have time to be stylish as well. But TRAID collects used clothing in its clothing banks and then sorts it and sells the best in it’s charity shops around the UK. The pieces of clothing that are not good enough to sell are into new one-off pieces and sold under the award-winning recycled fashion label, TRAIDremade. The money made from the sales of clothes is then used to fund more clothes banks as well as international development and education in the UK.

One of the ways that you can support TRAID and do your bit for the environment is to take your old clothes to a TRAID clothing bank.
