EJF designer t shirts to end child labour in cotton industry
The Spring Summer 2010 collection of t-shirts for the Environmental Justice Foundation ‘pick your cotton carefully campaign’ features designs by designers including Luella, Giles Deacon and Richard Nicoll. It has been modelled by a cast of 30 models and celebrities including Lily Cole, Noemie Lenoir and Poppy Delevigne. Each of the t-shirts is designed around the theme of “childhood, lost innocence and hope” to promote a new report by the EJF called “Slave Nation” which aims to end forced child labour in the cotton industry of Uzbekistan, the world’s third largest exporter of cotton.
The proceeds from the t-shirts which are made with organic and fairly traded Continental cotton from Turkey and printed with organic certified inks, will be used to support the EJF’s work to eradicate child labour and the use of dangerous pesticides in the cotton industry.
The EJF works to prevent the exploitation and suffering of people affected by environmental abuse around the world. The organic cotton t-shirts are available from www.ejfoundation.org/shop priced £30.
