New York Fashion Week - John Patrick Organic
Whilst the fashion weeks rumble on, it is sometimes difficult to see what the fashion industry is doing to help the environment and make clothing more sustainable, but at New York Fashion Week, there were at least a few notable examples including many at the Green Shows. John Patrick Organics has been one of the pioneers of eco fashion at New York Fashion Week and this time around has proved yet again that it is possible to be both green and extremely stylish.
The collection for Fall Winter 2010, which was inspired by Princess Diana and Joni Mitchell, combed elegant and timeless tailored pieces with more seventies styled pieces. The clothes were definitely the sort that you could buy and keep for many years to come. With a classic and nostalgic feel to them, they also managed to be fresh and exciting.
It is great to see such beautiful clothes being produced from organic textiles, grown without the use of pesticides. Lets hope many other designers decide to follow this example soon.
