Bamboo Baby goes online

Bamboo Baby’s organic clothing is available to order online for immediate dispatch to wholesale buyers from Bamboo Baby’s new website at www.bamboobaby.co.uk.

Bamboo Baby, the south London company run by sisters Sophie and Chloe Tostevin, produces beautifully designed clothes made from super-soft organic bamboo for babies and children, as well as a range of trendy maternity wear.

A whole section of the site is dedicated to wholesale buyers (www.organic-babyclothing.co.uk/wholesale_baby_clothes.html) where they can order current products online for immediate dispatch, making it easy for retailers to tailor their stock for unexpected demand or changes in the weather (summer heatwave anyone?).

The wholesale area also shows previews of future collections, so that wholesale buyers can see them before anyone else. They can also pre-order future collections online.

We supply our organic clothing range on a wholesale basis, to carefully selected independent baby clothing retailers, as well as lifestyle, gift shops, boutiques, maternity retailers and internet shops in the UK and overseas.

Bamboo Baby is actively seeking agents for its organic baby and children’s clothes and bamboo maternity range here in the UK and worldwide.

Do Not Pass Go, the autumn/winter 2009 collection of organic, bamboo fabric baby and kids’ clothes from Bamboo Baby takes its inspiration from the bright colours of children’s board games.

Bamboo Baby, the London company run by sister Sophie and Chloe Tostevin, has launched its stunning autumn/winter range for children from newborns to 5-year-olds, featuring bright stripes and fun logos on clothes made from organic, super-soft bamboo fabric.

Mums will be delighted by the hypoallergenic, super-soft fabric, which has been made into soft, yet durable denim jeans, dresses and coats, along with soft jersey tops, cardigans and trousers.

Boys get bright in a red, blue, green and white striped cardie while girls get cosy in the softest bamboo jersey kimono top with colour-coordinated striped trousers. Babies can snuggle in striped knitted bodysuits in the same colours.

And with fabric that is kind to even the most sensitive skin, Bamboo Baby hasn’t forgotten what goes on underneath. Boys can be just like dad in the softest boxer shorts, while girls look cute in matching vests and pants.

Bamboo fabric is organic, 100% natural and gives the super-soft feel of silky cashmere, while being durable and machine washable.

Bamboo: the green facts:

• Made from Moso bamboo: the world’s fastest-growing plant, which grows up to a metre a day (sounds like some children we know!) Bamboo is a grass, so once cut it will grow again (just like your garden lawn!)
• Naturally organic: Bamboo is grown without pesticides or fertilisers.
• Environmentally friendly: Bamboo absorbs 35% more carbon dioxide than equivalent stands of trees.

Bamboo fabric: the facts

• Absorbent: Bamboo fabric absorbs 60% more water than cotton.

• Organic: All of Bamboo Baby’s bamboo yarn for its organic baby clothes is made with Certified Organic Bamboo. The farm in China where the bamboo is grown is certified by OCIA International and the bamboo crops are certified by the USDA Organic Seal.

• Machine washable: Bamboo Baby’s organic baby clothes can be machine washed at 40 degrees (though they recommend 30 degrees for environmental reasons.

• Breathable: The porous nature of the fibre makes it breathable and comfortable against the skin.

• Thermo-regulating: Keeps the wearer warm in cool weather and cool in warm weather.

• Grown in China: Only one facility in China holds the patent to produce fibre from bamboo. The facility is SA8000 certified – that’s the universal standard for ethical sourcing. In plain terms that means that issues such as trade union rights, the use of child labour, working hours, health and safety and fair pay all meet acceptable standards.

Anyone for tennis… or cricket…or rugby?

As the battles are fought on Centre Court at Wimbledon, Bamboo Baby has announced the launch of its aptly named Bamboo Sporty collection for spring/summer 2010

The super-soft, durable clothes for babies and children up to seven are all made from organic bamboo fibre and organic cotton, and inspired by summer sports.

Boys are ready for tea in the cricket pavilion in smart jumpers and cardigans edged in beautiful bright blue stripes, while girls follow the Wimbledon rules in all-white tennis skirts, but then break them again with pretty pink-and-white striped sleeveless tops.

Boys can feel bright through spring and summer 2010 with rugby tops in bluebird blue stripes, to be teamed with classic jeans (and there’s skinny jeans in summery white for girls).

Summer parties will see girls looking pretty as a picture in their Wimbledon-white summer sash dress, complete with full skirt perfect for twirling – and a bluebird blue sash.

Babies can join in the fun too, in a delicate striped fine knit bodysuit that’s suitable for summer wear and the cutest stripe sleepsuits.

There is also sleepwear for the bigger ones, and the softest of soft underwear – matching vest and knickers in pink stripes for girls, and smart boxer shorts just like Dad’s for boys.
